65^th Republic day was celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm in K.L.E Society’s   S. Nijalingappa College Bengaluru on Sunday, 26^th January 2014 at 8:30 am. All the students and members of staff assembled in the ground for flag hoisting ceremony. Dr.B.L.Bhagyalaxmi, Director, Collegiate Education, Govt. Of Karnataka, was called as Chief Guest. The ceremony began with hoisting of the tricolour the pride of our nation by the reverend Chief Guest Dr. B.L.Bhagyalaxmi and Suresh C Hegadi, The Principal K.L.E Society’s   S. Nijalingappa College. It was followed by singing National Anthem and Drill by NCC cadets of Air force and Army wing. The synchronized movement of the students in drill presentation intensified the grandeur and solemnity of the occasion. The chief guest spoke on importance of Republic day, the day on which the constitution of India came into force, and said India is a republic country where public has the mighty power to elect its own leaders. The thought provoking and inspiring speech by the chief guest on the mementoes day motivated students to uphold the honour, integrity, uniqueness and diversity of their country and identify themselves as true Indians. The Principal in his Presidential remarks said that we need to be grateful to the founding father who formulated and drafted an exemplary constitution of India that has steered India towards progress and development. He continued saying nothing can be impossible if we stand united, work for the prosperity and development of our nation and thus fulfil our dreams of building a stronger nation in future.
