On 17.9.2016 members of the Student Council and faculty coordinator Mr. Manoj Kumar V Hiremath, organized Ganesh Chaturthi in our college premises. The significance of celebrating the festival was not a religious one. Bal Gangadhar Tilak recognized the wide appeal of the deity Ganesha as “the god for everybody”, and popularized Ganesh Chaturthi as a national festival in order “to bridge the gap between Brahmins (Upper Caste) and ‘non-Brahmins’, and generate nationalistic fervor among people in Maharashtra against the British colonial rule.
