On the eve of International AIDS Day on 1.12.2015, our college had organized an event involving students of K.L.E Society’s School and two HIV+ children from Dhruthi Foundation- NGO. Dr. Anil Kumar, Joint Secretary, Department of Health, Government of Karnataka, Mr. Vishwanath Angadi, Former District Judge were the guests of honour. Dr. J.M.Mallikarjunaiah, Principal, K.L.E Society’s Law College, Bengaluru, graced the occasion along with 447 students of the college.
Dr.Anil Kumar discussed about the initiatives of the government to eradicate AIDS and also presented statistics about AIDS victims. India has been working tremendously hard to eradicate HIV/AIDS which poses serious health challenges to a large population living in the country. Mr. Vishwanath Angadi, spoke about the role of courts, lawyers and students in eradicating AIDS from the societyDr. J.M.Mallikarjunaiah shared a few words of wisdom on the importance of the role of students and abut general awareness about AIDS.This was followed by a poem recitation session by journalist Mr. Rajesh Hiremath, Mr. Rajesh Kumar English faculty and Mr. Abhimanyu Kumar HOD, Department of English, Acharya Institute, Bengaluru.
