KLE Law College, Bengaluru, a constituent college of KLE Technological University, organized a National Seminar on “Constitutional Morality: A Cornerstone of the Constitution of India” on 16th September 2023.
The seminar served as a platform for scholars, legal professionals, students, and constitutional experts from across the country to engage in meaningful discussions on the role of constitutional morality in shaping governance and legal interpretation.
The inaugural session was graced by esteemed dignitaries, including Hon’ble Justice Mr. Arvind Kumar, Judge, Supreme Court of India and Justice E S Indiresh, hon’ble Judge of High Court of Karnataka, who emphasized the significance of constitutional morality in upholding the values enshrined in the Indian Constitution.
The seminar focused on key themes such as Constitutional Morality and Fundamental Rights, Judicial Interpretation and Political Decision-Making, Challenges of Majoritarianism and Authoritarianism, and Democratic Resilience Amidst Political and Social Unrest. Eminent academicians and legal experts delivered insightful plenary talks, highlighting how constitutional morality serves as a guiding principle in maintaining the integrity of democratic institutions.
Discussions underscored the importance of constitutional morality in ensuring justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity, particularly in times of political and social challenges. The event concluded with a call for collective responsibility in safeguarding constitutional values and fostering an inclusive, democratic society.
The KLE Law College, Bengaluru, A Constituent College of KLE Technological University has hosted the National Conference on “Law, Religion, and Society: A Constitutional Deliberation” on August 5th and 6th, 2023. The objective of the conference was to examine the intersection of law, religion and society in the backdrop of constitutional framework.
The inaugural session was graced by Hon’ble Dr. Justice Kaushal Jayendra Thaker, Judge of the Allahabad High Court, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Subhash B. Adi, former Judge of the High Court of Karnataka and Upalokayukta, State of Karnataka, Prof. V. Vijayakumar, Former Registrar of NLIU Bhopal, and Mr. Prabhuling K. Navadgi, Former Advocate General of Karnataka.
The key themes focused in the conference were Law, Politics, Religion, Governance; Religion and Gender; Terrorism, Religion, and National Security; and Secularisation and De-Secularisation.
Eminent academicians delivered the plenary talks.
